6) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of construction the product?

 When filming we had faced some challenges with the setting and the weather. When we was first scheduled to filming we had to cancel because of bad weather as we deemed it as unsafe for our actors and the camera equipment, we then later rescheduled and was lucky with weather as it was relatively hot, but had difficulties with the wind, we were initially worried about if we would be unable to hear the characters very well as of the strong winds; but would only be able to see when it came to editing.

We then had to have minor clean-up with the scenery as we moved certain weeds and removed some debris out of the way from the character so they couldn’t be harmed. When it came to filming the technology equipment was immaculate, we were very impressed by what the camera was able to do, and we used only the camera given to us and a tri pod.

The filming troubles we came up against were sticking to the 180 degree rule as sometimes we broke it and had to have another take, we also come up against some pets than ran into shot but we politely addressed the owners and we managed to continue filming, lastly some actors came into shot when they weren’t needed but we resolved it by having another take.

The group all worked well together, we took each other’s opinions on board, and when certain members lost concentration we all helped each other to stay focus, after the filming we all had a better understanding of how each other worked and this furthered our editing by working as a better team.

When it came to editing the whole group went round one of the member’s house and we made a day of editing, we used adobe after effect CS6. This software allowed us to edit down to the last key frame which enabled us to be very thorough in making the edit as neat as possible. The software featured colour correction tools which allowed us to add more life into our clips and make it more vibrant rather than a dull setting. when we started editing the initial problem with not hearing the actors due to the elements was made apparent. So we decided to call back the actors during a break and recorded voice overs to then incorporate with or product, so we could then hear the actors speak.

At first blogger was a slightly confusing, but after using it more often it became easier to understand, re arranging the blog was also a bit confusing but then I got the “jist” of it, blogger was useful as it was an easy and efficient way of getting our coursework in to our teacher, it was also useful to do homework at home and submit it to our teacher that night.
