mainstream vs independent film openings

from looking at mainstream films to independent  film openings we see that mainstream are set in a much higher quality. they have the funding to hype their opening up where as independent don't have the funding to do this. i looked a this is England and the dark knight and you can quite clearly see that the mainstream film (the dark knight) is more entertaining, the titles are more professional, the actors are more known and the camera quality is to a much better standard.

the openings are very different as the genre is very different as the dark Knight is a action and this is England is very niche, the dark knight gets straight into action and starts announcing who the main villain is, where as this is England shows the audience a variety of clips where it shows them British headlines and clips from the 80's so they get a feel how the film will be set and the location of the film

the sound is diegetic where in this is England they use music that was from the 80's that the audience would feel familiar with the music and would have a further understanding of the films setting and themes. where as the dark knight they have endorsed their own music into the opening scene and it is more of a dramatic beat which creates an eary atmosphere in the opening.

the end product of a film opening in a mainstream film just looks more professional, the digital quality is a lot higher, the titles are more professional, mainstream have more money to spend when it comes to the openings as they have backing from massive industries where as independent films don't have much money so they have to focus more on the plot.
